Leaves falling down an empty lane
Green fading away, Black creeping in
Good wilting away, doors open to sin
Empty stomach, makes no sound
The hungry heart cries out loud
Shout no more, No one’s near
A drop of water, a sea of blood
The smell of sweat, the taste of mud
Soul searching within a crowd? Don’t
There’s no music, there’s just sound.
People moving fast, out of sight
Days drowning away into night
Yes, there will come the day I fear.
Yet I don’t move, I stay right here
Tears pouring down withered eyes
Body lives on, soul dies...

Sad, negative, bereft of confidence,
ReplyDeletepain, angst, melancholy, longing, fright, resolve. Almost an entire gamut of feelings I went through reading this gem.
Longing for more......perfect for a craving soul.
Hi Niyad…I could feel that loneliness and craving for love in your poem…awesome…a real feast for ppl like me :) But let the soul never die, that's my only wish..let it take a rebirth like a phoenix...!!!
ReplyDeleteActually, I remembered a song, when I was reading ur poem. I would like to share the lyrics of that song "Where soul never dies"
Where the soul never dies
To Canaan's land I'm on my way
Where the soul never dies
My darkness night will turn to day
Where the soul never dies
No sad farewells
No tear-dimmed eyes
Where all is love and
The soul never dies (Dear friends, there'll be no sad farewell)
There'll be no tear-dimmed eyes
Where all is peace and joy and love
And the soul never dies
A rose is blooming there for me
Where the soul never dies
And I will spend eternity
Where the soul never dies
A love light beams across the foam
Where the soul never dies
It shines to light the shores of home
Where the soul never dies
My life will end in deathless sleep
Where the soul never dies
And everlasting joys I'll reap
Where the soul never dies
I'm on my way to that fair land
Where the soul never dies
Where there will be no parting hand
Where the soul never dies!
